Barefoot,
sometimes a
word can say it all,
release
something in here
you
couldn’t name, couldn’t figure out
When the
soul is aching to take of its shoes
To sell
everything you own and follow Him
Something
beyond garage sales and second hand clothes,
Something more
extreme than vegan diet, cutting your own hair
Scary,
because nothing has ever felt more right,
Frightened,
for no one has ever been this close
Empty your
hands, empty your heart
White,
clenching fingers around plastic apples, bodies sweating from faux furs
Let go
Let go
Let go
“is not life more than food, and the body more than clothes?”
Even to this
day,
Jesus said it all.
